FAQ

What is included in your “coordination” fee?

The coordination / administrative fee is an industry-wide standard which covers pre/post production hours (including, but not limited to venue walk-throughs, vendor coordination, rental coordination, ongoing planner correspondence, pulling COIs, internal team meetings, packing and cleaning equipment for your event, truck delivery fees, etc.)

What are my bar and beverage options with Urban Palate?

If your venue does not have a licensed liquor company, Urban Palate is pleased to facilitate beverage services for you. Urban Palate partners with several licensed liquor vendors at varying price points. Bar options include: “Full Open Bar” (wine, beer, spirits), “Beer and Wine Bar” and “Everything but the Booze” (client provides beer, wine, spirits – bar vendor provides mixers, sodas, garnishes, bar supplies, liquor liability license and ice). All bar packages include the option to offer specialty cocktails.

Does Urban Palate manage my rental order?

Rentals may be coordinated by us, or through your planner or designer, (whichever you prefer). If the rental order is facilitated through your planner, we will work with them to ensure that all necessary food service and kitchen items are included in your final order. If you prefer that we coordinate rentals, we are happy to order from the company(s) of your choice, or obtain bids from multiple companies to determine the best price. Please understand that rental costs vary greatly, depending on guest count, menu, delivery location, selected styles, choice of linens, etc. Urban Palate will be able to offer an accurate rental estimate once a budget has been determined and a guest count and menu has been confirmed.

What do “kitchen rentals” entail?

Urban Palate’s full service catering option means that we cook onsite, including chefs and a full kitchen staff. Some venues have commercial kitchens installed (which we are happy to use if available), however most venues require that a temporary kitchen be built within a tent or other designated space. This requires specific rental equipment that varies depending on the venue chosen, confirmed menu, guest count and other factors. Typical items to see on a kitchen rental list might include: ovens, transit cabinets, prep tables, floor mats, lighting, and trash cans. It is important to note that even when a venue has a kitchen onsite, additional kitchen rentals may be necessary.
